National HRD Network is pleased to announce its one day Seminar on
"Measuring HR Effectiveness" on Friday, 19 November 2010 at India

In the modern scenario, where HR function strives to become a
strategic business partner, measuring HR effectiveness becomes all the
more important. The effectiveness of HR function needs to be measured
in specific, quantifiable or "soft" assessments. HR must be able to
unequivocally demonstrate the efficacy with which it is executing its
various roles and the degree to which it is meeting the needs of its
customers.

INTERACTIVE PANEL DISCUSSION SESSIONS ON :

Linkage of Business to HR

As the people in an organization and their capabilities increasingly
become core to an organization's competitive advantage, the planning
and implementing of strategies which include the human resource
capabilities becomes a focus of all managers in a business. There is a
need to link HR strategy to the overall business strategy and look at
current issues such as performance management and measurement,
strategic reward systems, the learning organization, managing
knowledge for strategic advantage.

Strategic HR Planning & Resource Maximisation

Strategic HR planning is the process by which an organization ensures
that it has the right number of people with the right competencies in
the right jobs and at the right cost. Rigorous HR planning links
people management to the organization's mission, vision, goals and
objectives, as well as to its strategic plan and budgetary resources.
It is imperative for organizations to integrate HR planning with
business goals right from the start in order to achieve business
success.

Financial Performance Indicators attributable to HR

Cost pressures on HR come from corporate- wide initiatives to increase
competitiveness. The main issues with achieving HR cost savings are;
those that are internally generated within HR (inefficient processes,
difficulty in determining costs, insufficient/ineffective technology,
and problems in controlling salary and benefit costs); those that are
externally generated (resistance to change, politics and cost
reduction fatigue).
Financial compensation is one of the many elements that work together
with organizational culture, environment, integrity to make an
employer brand

Value Creation through HR Delivery

Modern organizations today are striving to achieve their unique
competitive advantage that enables them to become leaders in their
industry. Yet, to achieve true differentiation, companies must develop
a more responsive and resilient workforce by finding better ways to
source talent, allocate resources, measure performance and build vital
capabilities. HR delivery is about developing sound processes and
systems that ensure focused, committed, and competent workforce in the
organization.

Balance Scorecard to measure Effectiveness

Today, organizations are competing in complex environments so that an
accurate understanding of their goals and the method for attending
those goals is vital. The Balanced Scorecard translates an
organization's mission and strategy into a comprehensive set of
performance measures that provides a framework for a strategic
measurement and management system. The scorecard measures
organizational performance across four balanced perspectives:
Financial, Customers, Internal business processes, and Learning and
growth.
